Message from the PResident
Welcome! For over 55 years, Women Behind the Community (WO-BE-CO), Inc. has been a beacon of light for empowering women, children and families in education, employment, and equal rights in Baltimore Metropolitan Communities.
Our journey began when my parents were uneasy about the status quo, mobilized and joined forces with countless others to let their voices be heard and embarked upon a quest for equality. I, along with my siblings (Cheryl, Debbie, Mal) observed them all my life fight for equal rights in education, fair housing, health care and the right to vote.
We have come a long way but there is still much more work to be done. The struggle remains. Join us and support any of our initiatives such as, empowering young girls in reaching their full potential; donating clothing to support women and inspire them in employment and entrepreneurial opportunities; or the Cardrienne P. Griffin Scholarship fund.
The power of women can change the world. To God be the glory for perpetuating the WO-BE-CO legacy from my family to yours!
