Message from the PResident
Welcome! For over 55 years, Women Behind the Community (WO-BE-CO), Inc. has been empowering women, children and families in education, employment, and equal rights in the Baltimore Metropolitan Communities.
Our journey began when my parents decided that they wanted to improve their community as well as educate young girls and women and give them the means to have a voice and embark upon a quest for equality. They fought for equal rights in education, fair housing, health care and the right to vote.
In all that is going on in the world today, we are reminded that there is still much more work to be done. The struggle remains. Join us and support any of our initiatives such as, empowering young girls in reaching their full potential; donating clothing to support women and inspire them in employment and entrepreneurial opportunities; and the Cardrienne P. & James M. Griffin Scholarship funds.
The power of women can change the world. As I continue my parents legacy with my sister, Jewel, our goal is to continue to empower women and children through our legacy, WO-BE-CO, Inc.
